What should I do to get my heater to work properly?

My gas heater is not working properly. I got it at a temperature determined and it will shut off before it is there. I have to go off and in order to get any heat. It is sometimes maintained until temperature is reached desired, but more often than not left in a few minutes and then shuts down. It says I need to replace the battery, but has been saying that since last winter also and do not affect our a / c of this past summer. Replace the battery to make a difference or should I call a technician? I'm not good at DIY and gas heaters electrical problems /.

Try changing the battery. If it works then you just saved a lot of money by not calling a service technician only to change the battery. If you are not working, then you could realistically consider service man. Forget the things about last year and just changed Battery
